Network details
From a network's details page, view information about a specific range of IP addresses. To access the page, go to the Networks page and select a network from the Networks table.
Network overview
At the top of the page, view details about the network such as the origin, origin category tag, and the autonomous system number (ASN) for the origin. You can also view how many IP addresses are in the network and how many instances of vulnerabilities we found.
An origin is an organization that holds the rights to an IP address and connects it to the internet.
Network overview fields
Name | Description |
---|---|
Network | Range of IP addresses associated with the details on the page. |
Origin | Organization that holds the rights to the IP addresses in the network and connects them to the internet. Typically, it is the organization associated with the Autonomous System Number (ASN) for the network. |
Origin category tag | Type of connection the IP addresses in the network have to the internet. For details, see Tags. |
ASN | Unique identifier associated with the organization that holds the rights to the IP addresses in the network and connects them to the internet. Regional internet registries (RIRs) assign identifiers to the networks of large organizations. |
IP address count | Number of active IPv4 and IPv6 addresses within the network. |
Vulnerability instance count | Number of vulnerability instances found across all the IP addresses in the network. An instance is a vulnerability with a CVE number related to a service, product, and version combination on an open port. If there are mulitple instances of a combination running on multiple ports, we count the vulnerabilities for each port as additional instances. For details, see Vulnerability instances. |
Port count | Number of open ports identified for each active IP address in the network, including ports in the system, registered, and private ranges. |
Organization count | Number of organizations within your root organization's hierarchy with rights to the network or one or more domains the network uses. |
IP addresses for network
The IP addresses for network table includes the IP addresses we found in the network. For each IP address, the table includes details such as the corresponding domain names from forward and reverse DNS lookups, how many ports are open, and how many vulnerabilities we found.
Use the information to evaluate details for specific IP addresses in the network, such as how many ports are open.
For information about table options, see Tables.
Columns and filters
-
To add or remove information in the table, select Columns and choose the columns to view.
-
To view and manage IP addresses that meet specific criteria, such as those with more than one vulnerability, select Filters and then select how to narrow the data.
Name | Description |
---|---|
IP address | Active IPv4 or IPv6 addresses found in the network. |
RDNS | Domain name for the IP address identified from a reverse DNS (RDNS) lookup. RDNS uses an IP address to identify a domain name. |
FDNS count | Number of domain names for the IP address identified from a forward DNS (FDNS) lookup. FDNS uses a domain name to identify an IP address. |
Port count | Number of open ports identified for the IP address, including ports in the system, registered, and private ranges. |
Service count | Number of service, product, and version combinations on open ports. If there are multiple instances of a combination running on multiple ports, we only count the combination once. For example, if there are two instances of http, Apache httpd, 2.0.0, we only count the combination once. |
Vulnerability instance count | Number of vulnerability instances found for the IP address. An instance is a vulnerability with a CVE number related to a service, product, and version combination on an open port. If there are multiple instances of a combination running on multiple ports, we count the vulnerabilities for each port as additional instances. For details, see Vulnerability instances. |
IP address tags | Reason the IP address is potentially vulnerable. For details, see Tags. |
Network count | Number of networks the IP address belongs to. |
FDNS | Filter for finding IP addresses based on their FDNS domain names. |
